FRAENKELUFER RECONSTRUCTION
Occupying the footprint of the former Kottbusser Ufer Synagogue, a new Jewish community center will be constructed as part of the current Fraenkelufer Synagogue, as it is now know. The modern structure will resemble the original in both size and form, while addressing the contemporary needs of a growing Jewish population in Berlin.

With the Jewish community center we want to send out a signal of tolerance, solidarity, cosmopolitanism and optimism about the future in this city. This new-old synagogue points the way for the visibility of Jewish life in the heart of modern German society. This is of particular importance in times of growing and more blatantly occurring anti-Semitism that has unfortunately been seen in our country.
A JEWISH HOME IN THE MIDDLE OF KREUZBERG
The Jewish community center will provide space for culture and education, for a kindergarten, for neighborly and intercultural encounters,
for celebrations, events, exhibitions and more.

Experience Multicultural Exchange
The Jewish community center will facilitate encounters between generations, religions, nationalities - yes, between ordinary people. In addition to the cultural and educational program, there will be recreation rooms and a kosher café for neighbors and passers-by. A German proverb says: love goes through the stomach. Why not celebrate the beginning of a new exciting friendship with a piece of Babka or Jachnun ?
Impart Jewish Education
Education is central to the "people of the book". An in-house kindergarten will enable early education for the youngest, and in in the sense of lifelong learning there will also be various educational programs for adults. The plurality of Judaism as well as the centuries-old, intimacy and mutually enriching exchange with other religions should not be neglected here either. This house will be a place of learning, discussing, arguing and reconciling.
